Sayamaen’s Genmaicha tea is made by blending roasted brown rice and sencha tea with “uguisu” rice crackers sprinkled with matcha in a unique combination, then packing it in the store as Genmaicha tea with matcha.
The matcha used is not the kind used in processed foods, but the high-quality Uji matcha used in the tea ceremony. The aroma of brown rice and the refreshing taste of sencha are combined with the umami of matcha to create a deep flavor.
Brewing it with boiling water brings out the aroma, but using water that has been cooled to about 80°C will bring out the sweetness and umami of the sencha and matcha.
The price is such that you can easily try it out for everyday use, so please give our original “Uguisu Genmaicha” a try. (*We also have Genmaicha without matcha.)
