Tea refining and blending specialist Fumio Maeda produces our special sencha. Mr. Maeda is the first person to obtain the highest ranking in a nationwide competition of Japanese tea evaluation skill.
He is a professional who is not only able to accurately identify the qualities and characteristics of Japanese tea, but also, as a tea crafts-man of processing tea and his original, unique tea blending techniques.
He carefully selects green teas from various regions in Japan. He strives to finish up tea such as ‘Elegant and gentle flavor’. This tea is an original sencha blended by Mr. Maeda for Sayamaen.

Artistic Gogumi sencha has a perfection of Umami, Sweetness, richness and slight bitterness. and refreshing aroma.
To bring out the delicate umami flavor the tea is brewed using hot water cooled to about 70°C (158°F)
-Tips of Best- bring out- the flavor-(For 3 small tea cups/ 180ml )
8 g of leaves - 70℃ cool down hot water - Steeping 90 seconds.


Seasonal limited【Fumio Maeda’s Original blend Sencha】 will be available during New harvest season(Shincha) in May-June, and autumn seasonal Tea in October.

The tea leaves are beautifully shaped like needles with few fine leaves, and have a refined and calm taste that makes you feel relaxed when you drink it.
